Package #2 - Photography Workshop-Backcounty Trip August 5 to August 11, 2018

Our early August workshop gets you into some of our peak bear viewing in remote tundra locations, with chances to view bears fishing for bright red spawning salmon in crystal-clear streams.  This workshop also includes an extended backcountry camping experience to give you a chance to take a more intimate look at one of the many amazing locations in our part of Alaska.  

Day 1:
-1:00 p.m. check in for flight from Anchorage to The Farm Lodge. The flight to the lodge takes you through the scenic Lake Clark Pass, where you will see glaciers and glacial streams in one of Alaska's most beautiful mountainous settings.

-Check in to The Farm Lodge. Lodging includes a room with private bath, home-cooked Alaskan meals, and daily maid service.

-Orientation and setup with professional photographer/naturalist Jim Barr.

Day 2:
-Floatplane fly-out for photographing Grizzly/Brown Bears, spawning Salmon, and scenic landscape. 

At the end of this day you will be dropped at a scenic remote lake for guided camping, hiking, and photography,  Your camping time gives you opportunites to photograph tundra, mountainous and glacial lanscape, in morning, day, and evening light.

The Farm Lodge will provide camping equipment (tents, cots, sleeping bags, cook kit, and food) for this portion of your stay.

Day 3:
-Photography workshop activities in remote camp.

Day 4:
-Photography workshop activities in remote camp.

Day 5:
-Photography workshop activities in remote camp.
-Late afternoon pick up at remote lake and return to The Farm Lodge.

Day 6:
-Local hiking to the Lake Clark National Park Service Visitor's Center, Tanalian Falls, and Kontrashibuna Lake.
-Optional evening shoot on Lake Clark by boat.

Day 7:
-9:00 a.m. check out and return flight to Anchorage

-PRICE= $8475.00 per person (party of 2) in standard room.
-PRICE= $8625.00 per person (party of 2) in deluxe suite room.

Our packages are designed for small groups and provide you with a personalized experience. The activities take you into Alaska's most remote areas for chances to photograph bears, caribou, eagles, tundra, glaciers, waterfalls, mountains, and much more. The floatplane and guides are with you for the day, giving you the flexibility to move about and explore the best of the remote Alaska backcountry. These tours truly take you away from the crowd and into Alaska the way it is meant to be experienced.

The Farm Lodge is now taking reservations for 2019 through 2021. A 50% deposit is required in order to hold a reservation against other inquiries, with balance due 2 months before the date of your stay. The deposit is refundable up to 80% only if all cancellations are made no less than 60 days before the scheduled travel date. If you are planning a visit in 2020 or 2021 you can take advantage of our 2019 rates by making reservations before January 1 of 2020. Important Notes
*Due to the varied age of our staff and the wide diversity of groups we host at The Farm Lodge, we do not allow alcoholic beverages in the main lodge building (dining room). The Farm Lodge does not serve lunch in its dining room but provides excellent box lunches for each day of your stay. The above packages include the transportation of up to 75 pounds of luggage per person between Anchorage and Lake Clark, with everything over 75 pounds traveling at 90 cents per pound, each way. The package rates also include park service fees and taxes. The rates do not include voluntary gratuities.

The actual flight departure and pick up times may vary, depending on the date of your stay.
